PRIMARY FUNCTION

To bring help and hope to patients and families following a terrible trauma, a sudden medical event, or any medical transport. To be part of the finest EMS team in the United States.

This position is responsible for assisting the Controller with basic accounting functions within the CareFlite Accounting Department.  This person will support the accounts payable and the payroll processing function.

This position requires a personal commitment to CareFlite’s mission and core values and the willingness to demonstrate those core values in all activities performed for CareFlite or while representing CareFlite.  The incumbent(s) of this position are active participants in the organization and support the changes necessary for the organization’s survival.

REPORTS TO / SUPERVISES

This position reports directly to the Controller.  This position is not responsible for the supervision of any other CareFlite personnel but must work collaboratively with other personnel to resolve any accounting issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety:  

No specific duties.

Customer Service: 

Works with Controller and managers from all departments to resolve issues that may occur.  Assists in the input of accounts payable invoices and PO’s as needed.  May also produce weekly accounts payable checks and assist with filing.  This position serves as a resource for payroll processing and will assist the payroll supervisor in all areas.  This may involve verifying timecards, entering payroll information, processing payroll, and reviewing tax related filings.  This includes general ledger reconciliations and other duties that may be assigned by the Controller.

Quality Assurance: 

Reports errors and omission in accounting records promptly.

Incumbent(s) will actively participate in quality assurance/improvement activities as directed by their supervisor. Each incumbent will provide feedback in a positive, proactive manner on quality assurance/improvement activities, which impact their practice.

Fiscal Responsibility: 

Incumbent(s) will identify efficiency or cost saving ideas in a timely manner to their immediate supervisor.

Teamwork: 

Incumbent(s) will focus their efforts on supporting their co-workers at all times.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

College degree or accounting course work preferred.

Minimum two years experience in accounting field.

Proficient with word processing of software and Excel.  Knowledge of Great Plains as well as ADP would be preferred.
