PRIMARY FUNCTION

To bring help and hope to patients and families following a terrible trauma, a sudden medical event, or any medical transport. To be part of the finest EMS team in the United States.

This position serves to support CareFlite’s daily operations in the administration, air and ground divisions.  The incumbent is responsible for assisting in support services, delivering products, rendering services and collecting equipment, mail or products to be distributed within the company.

This position requires the personal skills to be a self-motivator with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals and to be a participating member of the CareFlite team.  The incumbent will work collaboratively with all CareFlite employees to ensure that the organization’s goals are achieved.

 

REPORTS TO/SUPERVISES

This position reports directly to the Support Services Manager.

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Incumbent maintains all certifications and skills required to function as a courier. 

Safely operates the vehicle to deliver such items as medical supplies, medical equipment, and non-medical equipment, mail, and office supplies to CareFlite locations, sponsor facilities and other places of business.

Documents transactions as required by CareFlite.

Places supplies, equipment and items delivered on shelves, racks or at a CareFlite designated location.

Sets up and/or maintains equipment as directed by CareFlite.

Collects or picks up supplies/equipment.

Loads and unloads delivery vehicle.

Performs daily fluid checks on delivery vehicle

Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Education and /or Experience:   

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or six to twelve months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language skills:

Have ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences and memos.  Have ability to write simple correspondences.  .

 

Mathematical skills:        

Have ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 

 

Reasoning ability:        

Have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instruction.  The ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer skills:

Have basic computer skills with understanding of data entry and supply tracking.

 

Certificates, License, Registrations:

Current Texas Department of Public Safety Class B Commercial Drivers License.   

Required DOT licenses.

Liquid Oxygen/Cryogenic Transfilling training class.

 

Other skills and abilities:

Ability to understand and read maps.

Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively on company radio.
