Human Resources Generalist

CareFlite is the only nonprofit fully integrated medical transportation company serving North Central Texas. We bring help and hope to patients and families following a terrible trauma, a sudden medical event, or any medical transport. We're looking for a Human Resources Generalist to provide positive support to the CareFlite HR team!

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), recruitment, workers’ compensation, leave management, employee relations, benefits, compensation, training, and other employment related matters. The HR Generalist will identify and resolve employee-related matters, and provide guidance on staffing and management issues.

Job Functions:

  • Responsible for managing FMLA and other leaves of absence from start to finish.
  • Work-related injuries/incidents and workers’ compensation management.
  • Assists with recruitment, sourcing and screening applicants, drafting offer letters, and managing pre-employment testing procedures.
  • Processes new hires, status changes and terminations.
  • Proactively develops, recommends and assists with the implementation of new HR Initiatives, procedures and documentation;
  • Responsible for benefits administration, maintenance of personnel files, employment inquires, and new employee orientation and onboarding.
  • Provide guidance and respond to employee questions regarding benefits, compensation and salary administration.
  • Recruiting and staffing logistics;
  • Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting;
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Developing and implementing procedures; including communication plans, performance reviews, new hire orientation, training programs, compensation and benefits planning, and talent assessments.
  • Conduct termination exit interviews, and subsequently compile and distribute acquired information.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law;
  • Evaluate and update company policies and procedures as needed.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Preferred PHR or SHRM-CP certification
  • Preferred working knowledge of ADP payroll system


PHR or SHRM-CP certification is required within 18 months of hire. First attempt at exam must be made within 12 months of hire date.

  • Must have 5 years of human resources, benefits and recruiting experience.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to perform independently at a high level; self-directed, self-motivated.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office products such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must have strong understanding of federal and state regulations.
  • Proven ability to problem solve, work through issues with limited information, ability to negotiate and influence positive employee relations.
  • Ability to perform independently at a high level; self-directed, self-motivated with consistent follow-through.
  • Must have superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills. Good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail.
